Alex commenced his accounting career in 1999, completing a double Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Finance and Accounting at The University of Adelaide in 2004. 

Alex went on to obtain a Graduate Diploma with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in 2006, placing in the top 5% of students internationally in Taxation and Financial Reporting. He then progressed to his Certificate of Public Practice and Tax Practioners Board registrations in 2014.

With over 25 years industry experience, Alex has extensive skills dealing with his staff, clients and their families. Alex prides himself on the close relationships he forms with his clients and team and is committed to helping them achieve equilibrium between financial and non-financial goals. 

When not working, Alex enjoys spending time with his friends, and family. Being a proud father of three beautiful girls, he spends much of his time watching dance recitals and supporting them with their hobbies. When he has an opportunity, Alex enjoys slow cooking meat in his offset smoker and gardening with his Golden Retriever, Jack.

Luke commenced his accounting and tax career in 2007 and brings over 17 years of experience working alongside Alex. Luke received the Chancellor’s Letter of Commendation for being the best graduating student studying Accounting and Finance at Flinders University in 2011. He went on to complete his Graduate Diploma with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in 2013.

Luke assists his clients achieve their goals and navigate a broad range of accounting, commercial and taxation matters. During his career, he has worked with numerous high net worth family groups and assisted with restructuring and associated complex taxation advice. Luke has a special interest in software and process solutions to assist stakeholders with accurate and timely reporting.

Luke prides himself on delivering timely, diligent services to all his clients with the principal focus on being a trusted advisor.    

When not in the office, Luke enjoys walking with his beautiful wife, Stephanie and West Highland Terrier, Barnaby at Brighton Beach.

Laura brings with her over 13 years of experience in the accounting industry, working alongside Alex with a special interest in the wine, viticulture and hospitality industries. With a proven track record of leadership and strategic financial management, she plays a pivotal role in driving the firm's success.

Achieving Dux of Accounting in her final year of studies, Laura also went on to achieve outstanding results during her CA qualifications, including a Merit for Financial Accounting & Reporting. Her dedication to success is evident in both her studies and professional career.

Throughout her career, Laura has demonstrated expertise in overseeing complex financial projects, providing insightful guidance to clients, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. She excels in building strong client relationships based on trust, integrity, and exceptional service delivery.

Away from the office, Laura enjoys an early morning gym session, balanced with a love for all things food and wine enjoyed with her family!

Kris completed his Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting at the University of South Australia in 2021, where he was awarded with a merit for his outstanding results. Kris has also completed studies at The Tax Institute and is currently studying towards becoming a Chartered Accountant with CAANZ. 

Kris has over 3 years of experience in the accounting industry working with Alex. He enjoys working closely with clients to provide them with guidance and support in meeting their regulatory requirements, as well as finding value for them along the way. 

Outside of the office, Kris enjoys spending time with family and friends, keeping healthy by going to the gym and playing Australian Rules Football. 

Michael gained a Bachelors of Accounting and Corporate Finance at the University of Adelaide in 2022. Since completing his degree, Michael has acquired further credits with The Tax Institute and is currently studying towards becoming a Chartered Accountant.

His background in Corporate Finance has provided Michael with the ability to offer effective tax advice on Investment Income, specifically Capital Gains Tax events. With multiple years of experience, Michael works well with others to provide the best tax outcomes for a range of businesses and significant individuals.

Aside from study and work, Michael can be found on the tools, learning a new skill. He is currently acquiring woodworking abilities in restoring life to vintage outdoor furniture.  

Syna joined eQuiess in July 2024 whilst pursuing a Bachelor of Finance and Banking and a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Adelaide.

Syna is the Treasurer for the Adelaide University Law Students (AULSS)

Syna has a profound love for taxation laws, and with the team at eQuiess, she is able to grow her knowledge and love for accounting even more every day.

Outside of the office, Syna loves to wake up early, go for her pilates and coffee walks, and spend time with her loved ones.

Ayla is a bright student. Her capacity to quickly pick-up tasks is valuable within the workplace.  

Ayla's passion for community service demonstrates her kind and driven character when she volunteers for her school and The Salvation Army. On top of her studies, Ayla commits herself to dancing and singing.

Ayla wants to develop all of her academic studies and work experience so that she can one day be our Chief Financial Officer.

Ayla enjoys hanging out with her friends and spending her money in Mecca and Sephora.
